Two people were killed and at least three others were injured in a seven-vehicle crash in East Palo Alto Tuesday morning, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened at about 8:20 a.m. in the area of Bay Road and University Avenue. Investigators said a minivan stru ck six other vehicles, including a SamTrans Ride Plus van, before coming to rest on Bay Road. The driver of the minivan, an adult man, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult woman who was also in the minivan was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died. At least three other people were injured in the crash. None of those injuries were reported as life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
