(KRON) -- A San Francisco Bay Area firefighter wanted on child pornography charges may have faked his own death three years ago. That’s according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which published an update Tuesday on former Alameda County firefighter Charles Johnathen Harris. A federal arr est warrant was issued for Harris in March 2023 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Harris, who was charged with possession of child pornography, allegedly drowned weeks later in a boating accident in Suisun Bay on April 4, 2023. Missing Antioch swimmer found dead However, according to the FBI, the circumstances surrounding Harris' alleged death warrant further scrutiny, including the possibility that he staged his death. On April 21, 2023, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Harris after he was charged with failure to appear. Harris, 46, is currently featured on the FBI's Most Wanted list. He reportedly uses the aliases "Chuck Harris" and "Charlie Harris." The FBI describes him as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 220 pounds, with red hair and blue eyes.
