INDIANAPOLIS — Gov. Mike Braun announced Tuesday that Indiana will host “one-stop shops” in Hamilton and LaPorte counties to provide disaster recovery resources for survivors of August’s storms. “Hoosiers, if you or your family was impacted by August’s devastating storms, be sure you apply for federal assistance before FEMA’s October 25 deadline,” Braun said. “I have directed resources like the one-stop shops, mobile registration intake centers and pop-up shops to be made available in impacted communities, ensuring all needs of Hoosiers recovering from these storms are met.” More than 5,000 Hoosiers affected by the storms have visited in-person sites for help. FEMA has provided nearly $120 million to 28,935 applicants. The deadline to apply for FEMA individual assistance is Oct. 25, 2026. The one-stop shops bring representatives from several agencies to a single location to help Hoosiers recover. Residents can access the following services on-site: Federal Assistance FEMA: Individual assistance application support. U.S. Small Business Administration: Disaster loan information. State Assistance Housing: Temporary housing help. Social Services: Crisis counseling and mental health referrals. Insurance: Assistance reviewing policies and replacing documents. Motor Vehicles: Support with registrations and licenses. Public Health: Vaccination records, vital records (birth and death certificates), tetanus shots, and cleanup guidance.
