Clear skies take us through tonight, with temperatures settling into the upper 50s. It’s going to be a cool and comfortable night across the area. Wednesday brings another beautiful day. We’ll have plenty of sunshine, dry weather, and a nice warm-up with afternoon highs climbing into the m id-80s. It stays quiet and mostly clear Wednesday night. Thursday kicks off October on a warm note. Temperatures will run well above the usual upper-70s for this time of year, with highs again reaching the mid-80s. We’ll have lots of sunshine, and even though moisture starts to creep back into the region, rain stays out of the forecast. By Friday, we’ll notice a few more clouds building in. A couple of showers could develop across the mountains during the afternoon, but for most of us, the better chance for rain holds off until Friday night or into Saturday. Temperatures will make one more run at the upper 80s before the big change arrives. Saturday starts the transition to a much wetter and cooler pattern. Clouds will thicken, showers will become more widespread, and cooler air could get trapped east of the mountains. By Saturday afternoon and evening, rain will become much more persistent across the region. From there, it looks like a soggy stretch into Sunday, with periods of heavy rain possible Saturday night and continuing through much of Sunday. At this point Sunday is the worst day and is trending to be a complete washout.
