INDIANAPOLIS — A double shooting late Monday night resulted in the death of one man and landed another man in the hospital, police said Tuesday morning. The shooting happened around 11:50 p.m. Monday, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Officers were called to the 3200 block of Guilford Avenue, near Rev. Charles R. Williams Park north of 30th Street, to investigate a report of a person shot. There, IMPD found the two men suffering gunshot wounds. Medics rushed the victims to a hospital, where one victim later died. Coroners identified him as Tommy Newton, 39. IMPD has not announced any arrests.
