SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A man who allegedly swung a box cutter at someone's neck and throat on a San Francisco Muni bus last week has been charged with attempted murder. The San Francisco District Attorney's Office announced on Monday that 44-year-old Glenn Hopkins of San Francisco had been charged with attempted murder, use of a deadly weapon, and great bodily injury. Dublin elderly couple suspected of killing son-in-law Court documents cited by the DA indicate that officers responded at 1:44 p.m. on Sept. 23 to a stabbing on a Muni bus. Hopkins, the DA said, was involved in an encounter with two women riding the bus. The victim boarded the bus and heard the women yelling at Hopkins to get away and stop staring at them. The victim then got between Hopkins and women. Hopkins, the DA said, continued to try and get past the victim to get to the woman. He could not. It was then that he allegedly drew a box cutter with the blade exposed and suddenly and repeatedly swung it at the victim's neck and throat. San Francisco Police Department officers located Hopkins nearby and arrested him. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday. The investigation remains active, according to the DA. ...read more read less
