INDIANAPOLIS — The Hoosier Dome will close its location in Fountain Square by the end of December, organizers announced Monday on Instagram. A new company purchased the building at 1627 Prospect St. and asked the organization to vacate. Organizers said they will remain in the space before t he new owners begin renovations to repurpose the building. “It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that we have to announce that Hoosier Dome will be coming to an end soon,” the venue posted. The Hoosier Dome opened 16 years ago in 2010 as one of Indiana’s longest-running all-ages venues. The organization rented the building from a long-term owner before the recent sale. Organizers noted they exhausted all options to remain in the building. “If there was something that could be done to change this circumstance, trust us, we have already tried it,” the post read. The venue has hosted international acts from Australia to Sweden, including Grammy winners and nominees, along with many release shows and farewell tours. Despite the upcoming closure, organizers said 2026 was on track to be the venue’s busiest year for scheduled shows.
