A Cedar Park-based churrascaria is taking a bite out of San Antonio’s dining scene. Bitelo Brazilian Steakhouse is opening in the buzzy Portico at Shaenfield Ranch development at 7807 W. Loop 1604 N. on Tuesday, September 29.The Far Northwest Side restaurant is only the second location for the fam ily run mini-chain. The concept first debuted in the Austin suburb in 2023.The concept is similar to churrasco chains like Fogo de Chão. Servers carve meaty cuts of picanha, filet mignon, and linguiça sausage tableside after diners load their plates from the salad bar. The latter isn’t exactly veggie-heavy, sneaking in cheeses, cured meats, and candied bacon among the leafy greens.There’s also a selection of hot side dishes, including rice, black beans, fried bananas, garlic mashed potatoes, and pão de queijo, Brazil’s famous cheese bread made with tapioca flour. ...read more read less
