Miggy’s Gift, in partnership with Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute and the Village of Pinecrest Parks and Recreation, will host its 8th Annual Melanoma Walk, “Saddle Up for Melanoma,” on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026, at Evelyn Greer Park, 8200 SW 124th St., Pinecrest, FL 33156. Guests may begin arriving at 8 a.m., with the event officially starting at 9 a.m. The annual event is designed to raise awareness about melanoma, the dangers of unprotected sun exposure and the importance of practicing sun safety. Families will have the opportunity to participate in an educational walk around the park while learning ways to protect themselves and their children from harmful sun exposure. One of the event’s key offerings will be free skin checks, along with opportunities for attendees to speak with health care professionals from Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute and Children’s Skin Center at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. In addition to its educational programming, “Saddle Up for Melanoma” will feature music, food, raffle prizes, a silent auction, photo booth, pony rides, a farm animal petting zoo and a surprise performance. Each participant will receive an event bag featuring sun safety literature, a western neck scarf, sunglasses, lip balm and sunscreen. Children will also receive surprise goodies throughout the educational walk. Miggy’s Gift is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting melanoma awareness and sun safety. Those unable to attend the walk can continue supporting the organization through donations, which are tax-deductible.
