FRANKLIN mdash; A Franklin man was arrested for the alleged aggravated assault of an officer on Friday, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.nbsp;A deputy and an investigator with the sheriff's office traveled to a local business in the Ricohoc area to complete a summons arrest on a su bject on Thursday afternoon when David Leonard Jr., a family member of the subject, allegedly exited the business yelling obscenities and threatening the investigator.nbsp;Leonard was later physically restrained by a family member as he continued to yell and advance towards the investigator in a threatening manner.nbsp;On Friday, an arrest warrant was issued for Leonard for the aggravated assault on a police officer in connection with the altercation. A detective later contacted Leonard and advised him of the warrant as well as requested that he turn himself in.nbsp;Leonard later surrendered himself at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center before being released on a $1,5000 bond.nbsp;nbsp;Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
