Nine adults and a dog were rescued from two motels amid flooding in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Township on Saturday, police said. The rescue began at around 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the Pleasantville Fire Department conducted a well-being check on the Travel Inn and Ne w Sea Breeze motels, police said. There, emergency crews found first-floor rooms with two to three feet of water inside. The Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company then used their high-water rescue vehicle to take all nine adults and one dog to a warming center at the Egg Harbor Harbor Township Community Center, police said. As the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company gave a second sweep of the motels, they found a small fire in one of the rooms at the Travel Inn, which was then put out, police said. Officials then helped all nine adults and the dog find second-floor lodging, police said.
