A Montgomery County teacher and wrestling coach is facing sexual offense charges involving three minors, including a former student, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. On Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, 54-year-old Jason Theodore, a physical education teacher at Montgomery Elementary School in North Wales, Pennsylvania, was arrested by Upper Gwynedd Township police, according to North Penn School District Superintendent Todd Bauer. Prosecutors said Theodore was also a wrestling coach at Pennbrook Middle School and a local hockey coach. According to prosecutors, the investigation began on Sept. 9 after police received a report from a young adult who said he had endured years of sexual abuse beginning when he was around 13 years old. Officials said the victim reported meeting Theodore online and later learned that he was a teacher and coach. In a letter to North Penn staff and families, Bauer wrote that Upper Gwynedd Township police first contacted the district on Sept. 9 following allegations of “serious sexual offenses involving minors” against Theodore. Theodore was placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation, Bauer wrote. During the investigation, police identified two additional victims who reported being sexually abused by Theodore after meeting him online. According to prosecutors, the abuse reportedly occurred between 2019 and 2023 and began when the victims were between 13 and 16 years old. Prosecutors said one victim had previously been Theodore’s student and told investigators that Theodore initiated contact after the child was no longer in his class. Officials also said two victims told police that the teacher also used the pseudonym “John.” Prosecutors said all three victims reported that Theodore contacted them online, solicited child sexual abuse material and provided them with alcohol and marijuana. Theodore is now facing multiple charges, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and other offenses. Police told the district that there is currently no evidence that the alleged acts took place on school property. Theodore was arraigned Saturday and denied bail.
