CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A two-year-old girl in Cumberland County was found safe after going missing for over 19 hours. According to a Facebook post from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department made at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, 2-year-old Bridget Maeve Zeigler was found safe. The of fice thanked the public for their help with the search for Zeigler. Virginia State Police (VSP) found Zeigler in the woods less than a quarter of a mile from home at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday. According to VSP, she was reunited with her parents and appears to be in good health. State police said Zeigler is being checked out. This comes hours after a CODI Alert was issued for Bridget Maeve Zeigler on Thursday, Sept. 24. Officials said they believe she walked away from her home in the area of Hidden Valley Road at around 6 p.m. State police have since shared that Zeigler was outside playing hide-and-seek with a sibling when she disappeared Thursday night. Officials with the Cumberland Sheriff’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Virginia State Police and other agencies asked residents to check their property for Zeigler, who was believed to be on foot and was last seen wearing an orange dress, a blue coat and white sneakers.
