(Photo credit to Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 25)–Court records show misdemeanor child abuse charges have been filed against Lincoln Police Captain Mayde McGuire and her partner, Mary Tobiassen, apparently after they left their two-year-old chi ld locked in a van in late August, while they fished at Pawnee Lake. If convicted, both could get up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said the toddler was left in the van for about a half-hour, as McGuire and Tobiassen were fishing. The temperature at the time was 78 degrees and the child wasn’t hurt. LSO says McGuire also submitted a preliminary breath test, which showed a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.108.
