(Courtesy of Nebraska Athletics)LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 25)–An ex-staff member for the Nebraska football team is accused of stealing six football helmets worth a total of $9,000 and some clothes from the Memorial Stadium locker rooms in August and earlier this month. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police said a UNL football staff member reported four missing black alternative Husker helmets for an upcoming game. UNLPD got security video from Aug. 21, which showed a man, later identified as 22-year-old Brett Powers, arriving to the Osborne Legacy Complex, using a card reader to unlock the door, before going to the equipment room. Powers was later tracked down and arrested.  He was charged with one count of burglary. Bond for Powers is set at 10% of $15,000 and his next court date is Nov. 5. ...read more read less
