The Philadelphia Police Department has released surveillance footage in the hopes of tracking down a man who, officials claim, attacked a home owner but was fought off in attempted home invasion in South Philly’s Point Breeze section. Officials shared footage of the suspected attacker on social media on Friday. According to police, this man is sought following an incident that happened at about 6:20 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2026, near the intersection of 20th and Morris streets. Ahead of the attempted home invasion, officials said, the man seen in the surveillance footage was spotted “skulking” throughout the nearby neighborhood and peering into windows and walking through alleyways. After about 10 minutes, officials said, the suspect spotted a homeowner putting out the trash and descended on the individual. Here, police allege, the man sought in this incident attacked the homeowner, forcing his way through the front door of the homeowner’s residence and a struggle ensued. Police said the homeowner “valiantly fought off the suspect” and the man sought in this incident fled the home empty handed. Now, officials are seeking help from the public to identify the man sought in the attempted home invasion.
