The Na Wahine O Ke Kai race from Molokai to Oahu was canceled because of Tropical Storm Nolo (“Wahine race canceled,” Star-Advertiser, Sept. 23). Since the first crossing in 1979, the race has been canceled seven times due to hurricanes, tropical storms, global pandemics or deadly wildfires.
