A flight instructor and student pilot died following a fiery plane crash at San Diego's Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport on September 7. Frederic Carl Hewett and Roger Shimizu were conducting an instructional flight when their Cessna 172N stalled and nosed over during its ninth landing attempt.
