CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Chesterfield County residents will have the chance to step back in time next month with a special ceremony marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. The ceremony will kick off with the unveiling of a National Society of Daughters of the American R evolution Pomeroy Foundation marker and a dedication of a brick walkway memorial honoring the troops who trained there in 1780 and 1781, according to a release. County officials, representatives from partner organizations — including the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia — and John Pagano, historical interpretation supervisor of Henricus Historical Park, will talk about the ths historical significance of the site. Attendees can also expect living-history demonstrations, military drills, period music and colonial games for children. Historical portrayals from Henricus Historical Park staff, period militia drills and musket firing and other educational opportunities to learn about Virginia history are also on the agenda.
