Rocky has officially moved to its new home at the top of the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps. According to city officials, the iconic statue was moved around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, and the blankets covering it came off around 12:30 p.m. Additional cleanup work is expected to continue Thursday. Once the installation is complete, the barricades will be removed Friday. Nearly two weeks ago, crews began preparing for the permanent installation of the city’s beloved statue at the top of the iconic steps. The move comes after the museum featured the statue of Sylvester Stallone’s character at the center of the exhibit “Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments,” which included dozens of pieces by more than 50 artists and artifacts spanning more than 2,000 years. During the exhibit, the Rocky statue that remained outside was on loan from Stallone.
