Proceeds will support New Orleans Public Library programs, resources and services, according to the foundation. This year’s sale will feature the event’s largest collection to date, including an expanded selection of vintage, rare and boutique books. Most gently used books will be priced at $3 or $4, while children’s books will sell for $2 each. A separate rare books tent will feature vintage and boutique titles selected by foundation volunteers. “This is one of our favorite fall traditions,” said Drew Brinkman, sales and outreach coordinator for the Library Foundation of New Orleans. “It’s always amazing how many of the donated books we receive are paired up with someone excited to find it. We really have something for everyone.” Books available at the sale were either donated by community members or retired from New Orleans Public Library collections. The event provides a way for the foundation to resell those books while generating funding for the city’s public library system. The sale comes during the Library Foundation of New Orleans’ first year operating under its current structure. The nonprofit was formed in 2026 through the merger of the Friends of New Orleans Public Library and the New Orleans Public Library Foundation.
