Dance class puts a spin on cancer awareness
Sep 23, 2026
What could be more fun than line dancing for a couple of hours and doing something good while staying in step?
The annual Line Dancing Makes Chemo Bearable Event happens this weekend in Grand Prairie.
Survivors, caregivers, family, friends, and supporters will dance and raise awareness of brea
st cancer and remind survivors that there is joy in the journey.
Breast cancer survivor Ragina Ireland founded the nonprofit Making Chemo Bearable to provide awareness, education, support, and hope to individuals navigating their cancer journey. Part of her work is delivering signature care boxes all over the country.
Ireland’s diagnosis came almost 20 years ago. She’d had a clear mammogram, then discovered a lump in her breast during a self-exam while on a trip with lifelong friends.
Her mission now is to empower survivors to find joy in the journey. The line dancing event is one of the ways she does that. It’s scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26th, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at The Summit, 2975 Esplanade in Grand Prairie.
Registration is open through the morning of the event. A $15 donation is requested.
