Paradise Pizza Pretzels INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new dining destination is bringing island vibes and creative comfort food to Indianapolis’ eastside. Paradise Pizza Pretzels combines a Hawaiian-inspired atmosphere with handcrafted soft pretzels and unique pretzel-crust pizzas. Co-founders say it is the only spot in Indiana serving both under one roof year-round. Co-founders Gerald “Jerry” Terhune and Michael Warner combined their experience to create something new for Indianapolis diners. Terhune previously owned pretzel stores in shopping malls, while Warner brings extensive experience making pizza. “We wanted to create a place where families could enjoy quality, handmade food in a fun atmosphere,” Terhune said. The restaurant uses a proprietary pretzel mix for its soft pretzels and pizza crusts, with everything made from scratch daily. The Hawaiian-inspired theme gives customers a tropical escape while they enjoy their meals. Warner said quality is a major focus for the restaurant. “Every pretzel and pizza crust is hand-rolled. We’re not cutting corners — we’re building something special for this community,” Warner said. The menu features a variety of handmade soft pretzels, including classic salted pretzels, the Paradise Pretzel made with three cheeses and bacon, cinnamon-sugar pretzel bites and Paradise Pretzel Pockets filled with pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella and marinara. For dessert, the Coconut Dream pretzel combines Nutella and coconut. The restaurant’s pretzel-crust pizza menu includes the Pineapple Express, made with pineapple, ham, onion and a barbecue drizzle, as well as the Paradise Boss, which features pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, onion, mushrooms and banana peppers. Other options include Buffalo Pretzel Pizza and custom pretzel-crust creations. Paradise Pizza Pretzels also serves dirty sodas, including the Orange Creamsicle made with vanilla, orange soda and sweet cream; the Dirty Paradise with coconut, pineapple, Mountain Dew and lime; and the Blue Lagoon with blue raspberry, Starry and coconut cream. Customers can also create their own combinations. The menu also includes Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, fresh salads, hot and cold sandwiches, fresh-brewed iced teas and Lemon Shake-Ups. The restaurant recently participated in a festival in Lawrence, where its cinnamon-sugar pretzels were a hit with attendees. “Seeing families line up for our pretzels at the festival showed us we’re on the right track,” Warner said. “This community has embraced us, and we’re committed to serving them the best product possible.” Through October, Paradise Pizza Pretzels is offering introductory deals to customers who mention Life.Style.Live!
