(KRON) -- A ride-hailing driver is accused of sexually assaulting a boy passenger in the South Bay earlier this month, the San Jose Police Department announced Tuesday. Detectives believe there may be more victims based on the nature of the incident. The sexual assault occurred on the evening of Se pt. 12 in downtown San Jose, within the 100 block of Paseo de San Antonio, police said. The crime was reported later that night at 10:38 p.m. “The preliminary investigation revealed the juvenile male survivor was traveling in a rideshare vehicle when the adult male suspect driver sexually assaulted the juvenile,” SJPD wrote. Detectives identified the ride-hailing vehicle, leading investigators to the suspect, Anuj Kumar. Kumar, a 32-year-old Foster City resident, was taken into custody on Sept. 13. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for sexual assault of a minor.
