(KRON) -- A man who allegedly assaulted a juvenile with the broad side of a machete in Sunnyvale was arrested on Saturday evening, according to police. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety responded to the area of Central and Lincoln avenues on the report of a violent confrontation between a m an and three juveniles. Officers learned that the three juveniles were riding their bicycles in the area when a man “struck one of the juveniles on the forehead with the flat side of a machete blade,” authorities said. (Photo: Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety) The suspect drove away following the assault. Using automated license plate reader cameras, officers identified the suspected attacker. After he was located, he was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. Authorities did not release the suspect's name.
