You didn't give no reason. You didn't tell us why. You didn't say anything." Johnson said.Keyundra Davis, who owns a home health agency and also serves as an advocate for her grandmother, said she came to the office hoping to find a solution she could not locate online.Our management team called the national Social Security line and was told the Tallahassee location was open. ABC 27 called the location and remained on hold for over an hour while trying to reach a local representative.ABC 27's Brieanna Smith tried calling as well.Security at the building told us the closure was due to a building issue and that it affected the entire building not just the Social Security office.However, a neighboring business said they were not experiencing any problems.Security directed residents to visit the Marianna office instead, located about an hour and 15 minutes away.Johnson said the distance posed a real barrier."I do have a car, but it's not strong enough to go to Marianna. If I do, I would have to find a ride or somebody with a good enough car to take me an hour away, and I have to go to work," Johnson said.The closure notice also encouraged people to use Social Security's online services.Davis said many of the people she works with are unable to do that."Our seniors and disabled persons with disabilities, they don't have access to computers and tablets, iPhones, things like that, and if they do, they don't know how to use them. They need family's assistance to do those things, and we have seniors, veterans that can't access, so what do they do?"
