INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Animal Care Services will waive adoption fees for all dogs and cats this weekend during its “Home Is Calling” event. The event happens from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27. IACS is located at 5001 E. Raymond St. The shelter currentl y has 183 dogs and 56 cats. IACS Director Amanda Dehoney-Hinkle said the event aims to connect pets with families while creating space and resources for other animals in need. “Home means something different to everyone, but for the animals in our care, it means having a family and a place to belong,” Dehoney-Hinkle said in a release. “There are so many wonderful dogs and cats here waiting for that opportunity. We hope people will visit us during Home Is Calling, spend some time getting to know them, and discover that the companion their home has been missing has been waiting here for them.” Adoption fees are usually $60. Every pet will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before going home. Interested families can view dogs until 6:30 p.m. both days.
