A pregnant woman en route to the hospital gave birth to a healthy baby girl after heavy traffic forced her to pull over near Crossover Drive and Martin Luther King Jr Drive for a roadside delivery on Friday afternoon. Emergency services were able to arrive just in time to assist with the birth.As NB C Bay Area reports, the unexpected delivery got underway after the family got stuck in heavy traffic, compelling them to pull over and call 911. The San Francisco Fire Department reports that the birth began around 4:40 pm and that paramedics ultimately choose to park two blocks from the scene and run the rest of the way to reach their patient.Ultimately, ABC7 notes, emergency services in the form of SFFD Paramedic Engine 14 and AMR Unit 110 were able to make it in time to assist with the delivery.
