Rainy Sunday for the Philadelphia region, wet weather continues through the week

Sunday began with prolonged rain throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and some raindrops crossed into parts of New Jersey though South Jersey and Delaware will likely remain dry throughout the morning.
A break from the rain is expected during the early afternoon though on and off showers return l
ater for the entire region.
The rain throughout the day will mostly be light to moderate though some heavier pockets could fall near Delaware and South Jersey Sunday night with thunderstorms possible.
The Lehigh Valley will be in the low 70s with temperatures in the mid-70s in Philadelphia as well as the upper 70s in South Jersey and Wilmington, Delaware, with temperatures in the 80s in the southern half of Delaware.
Most of the rain clears by midnight.
Monday starts cloudy and temperatures will be in the low 70s. At night, rain returns and we wake up to more rain that could last most of the day on Tuesday.
Tuesday is the last day of summer and temperatures will be in the 60s through Thursday.
Finally, we’ll see a return to temperatures in the 70s and sunshine next weekend.
