‘Felt like a natural fit’: Hog Island Oyster Co. is coming to the East Bay here.
Sep 18, 2026
(KRON) -- Hog Island Oyster Co. announced that it will expand to the East Bay, bringing its beloved oysters, seafood, and cocktails to Lafayette.
The new location will open in early 2027, and will occupy the former Barranco space, at 3596 Mt. Diablo Boulevard.
This opening marks the fifth oyster
bar and sixth restaurant for the company. It currently has oyster bars in Marshall, Napa, Larkspur, and San Francisco, along with Tony’s Seafood Restaurant and a pick-up window in Petaluma.
The Lafayette location will have a full bar and lunch and dinner service.
"The menu will bring Hog Island favorites to Lafayette alongside dishes and specials created specifically for the new location," according to a press release.
Hog Island said it will again partner with longtime design collaborator BCV Architecture on the space and "incorporate large-scale artwork by local artists with ties to the Hog Island community."
Hog Island Oyster Co. said the approximately 2,200-square-foot restaurant will have about 130 seats, including 40 outdoors.
“We’ve been looking for the right opportunity to bring Hog Island to the East Bay, and Lafayette felt like a natural fit,” said Hog Island Oyster Co. founder and CEO John Finger. “This location gives us the chance to create a true neighborhood restaurant while introducing Hog Island to more people on this side of the Bay. We’re excited to become part of the Lafayette community and look forward to opening our doors in early 2027.”
