A man sitting at a table on the sidewalk at Parc in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse neighborhood was robbed in broad daylight on Friday afternoon, according to the police department. This all happened around 1:13 p.m. on Sept. 18 as a 35-year-old man was sitting at a table outside of the restaurant Parc on 18th Street, police said. A man walked up to the victim and pointed a gun at him while grabbing his laptop before running southbound on 18th Street, police reported. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division said they arrested a person in connection to this incident and is investigating. Police say they are investigating a video that was shared with the Word to the Wise podcast that shows the incident unfold. In the video, a man is seen sitting a table outside the restaurant with his laptop open. Then, a man comes up from behind him, pulls out a gun and points it at the other man as he swipes the laptop with his other hand. Then, the man runs away with the laptop and the man who was sitting at Parc chases after him. The NBC10 Investigators found at least 114 reports of robberies with firearms in the Center City area so far this year. That’s according to publicly available Philadelphia Police data. That number is down significantly over the same time period the last five years. The Investigators found it dropped by 53% between 2022 and this year.
