A woman is in custody after she crashed her SUV into a Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer on Friday, officials said. The officer was directing traffic at Ridge and Stenton avenues when a 42-year-old woman driving a dark blue Audi approached the intersection, according to investigators. The woman ignored the officer’s traffic commands and drove her SUV into him before fleeing southbound on Ridge Avenue, police said. Police captured the woman on 32nd and Berks streets. They have not yet revealed her identity or the specific charges she’ll face. The officer suffered injuries to his left leg and right arm but did not seek medical treatment, officials said.
