Bruno, the Park City Police Department K-9 who was transported to an emergency veterinary hospital on Tuesday after he jumped from a freeway overpass during an investigation, is expected to survive, according to an update from the department on Thursday. The dog sustained two broken legs and a f ractured jaw, but a statement from the Police Department said Bruno is “in good spirits” and underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair his broken legs. “Bruno’s surgery went well, and he is officially on the mend,” the statement said. “He was released from the veterinary hospital (Thursday) afternoon and is now home with his family. After everything Bruno has been through over the past few days, we are grateful he can begin the next part of his recovery at home, surrounded by the people who know and love him best.” The Police Department thanked the community for “the incredible amount of love and support shown to Bruno and his handler over the past few days.” Bruno was released from the veterinary hospital on Thursday.
