A California man was arrested after being accused of stealing a cargo shipment worth more than half a million dollars from a New Castle warehouse on Monday, according to Delaware State Police. Officials said 35-year-old Dushatdaman Parihar is facing multiple charges after he and another person ar e suspected of using fraudulent documents to steal a shipment containing $680,000 worth of electronics. On Sept. 15, troopers received a 911 call regarding a cargo theft. When they spoke with the caller, they learned that the day before, at approximately 9:15 a.m., two suspects arrived at Emolo Consumer Electronics on River Road in a tractor-trailer cab, identified themselves as FedEx employees and presented driver’s licenses and shipping documents for a trailer containing the cargo shipment. The caller told troopers the suspects attached the trailer to the cab and left the area. A short time later, the shipping documents were determined to be fraudulent, officials said. According to troopers, the caller later located the tractor-trailer parked at University Plaza in Newark and called 911. While speaking with the caller, troopers saw one of the suspects, later identified as Parihar, walking toward the tractor-trailer. Troopers spoke with Parihar and determined that the driver’s licenses presented at the warehouse and the registration plate displayed on the tractor-trailer were fraudulent. Parihar was arrested and charged with theft of $100,000 or more, forgery, conspiracy and displaying a fictitious registration plate. The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this case and is still working to identify the second suspect.
