A fatal crash Friday shut down a portion of I35W, just north of I20, north and southbound for hours. Fort Worth police said that at about 2:30 Friday morning, South Division officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of South Freeway in response to a major accident. Police said that in their preliminary investigation, it appeared an accident happened on the highway. Another motorist stopped to help the occupants of the vehicle involved in the initial accident.
