A brother and sister are dead following a murder-suicide Wednesday morning at a home in Camden County, New Jersey, officials said. Officers responded to the 4400 block of Bethel Avenue in Pennsauken at about 9:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026 for a report of a shooting, according to Camden Co unty Prosecutors. When officers got to the scene, prosecutors said they found 59-year-old Janet Camacho of Pennsauken, shot on the front steps of home. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:38 a.m. Back at the home, prosecutors said members of the Camden County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team responded to help. Then around 10:37 a.m. officers when inside the home and found a man, identified as the victim’s bother Daniel Lopez, 60, of Pennsauken, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. SkyForce 10 flew over the scene, where several police officers could be seen surrounding the home, with some pointing guns toward the residence. A robotic dog was also seen being used by officers. Prosecutors said the investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
