Credit: Photo courtesy of David Winega r Seven members of the Park City Photography Club brought home awards from the 2026 Utah State Fair, held during the fair’s 170th anniversary celebration. Club members Howard Meltzer, David Winegar, Mary Perry, Liz Dranow, Amy Eskind, Joelle Massari and David Breslauer were recognized across a wide range of categories, including fine art, black-and-white, wildlife, abstract, sports/action, humor, landscape and phone photography. David Winegar received best in show for his “Sovereign of the Storm” in the fine art category and also earned several additional awards, including first place for “Balancing Act,” second place for “Life Liberty,” third place for “Lost in Time” and fourth-place honors for “Shades of Summer” and “Etched in Time.”  David Winegar’s “Sovereign of the Storm” won best in show at the 2026 Utah State Fair. Credit: Photo courtesy of David Winegar Mary Perry earned first-place honors in multiple categories, including fine art with “Spirit Horse Onaqui,” “Where the Eagles Once Hunted on the GSL,” “Aspens in Fall” and “Bison March.” She also received second place for “Reflections of Love.” Howard Meltzer was honored for several photographs, including “House of Plates-Uzbekistan,” “The Red Sails” and “No Privacy,” “Shadow of the Dragon” and “The Red Wedding,” while Liz Dranow earned second-place awards for “Life Elevated” and “Unleashed.” Mary Perry’s “Spirit Horse Onaqui” won first place in the fine art category at the 2026 Utah State Fair. Credit: Photo courtesy of David Winegar Amy Eskind took second place in the humor category for “I’m Losing It With You, Kiddo” and received an honorable mention for “Sunrise Light and Shadow of the Palouse.” David Breslauer won second place in fine art for “Proud Sage Grouse,” along with second-place awards for “Surface Tension,” “Shiprock at Dawn” and “Blood Salt.” His drone view, “Shiprock at Dawn,” was also selected for the Utah Division of Arts and Museums statewide traveling exhibition. Credit: David Breslauer Competing in the Advanced Amateur Division, Joelle Massari earned third place for an Alaskan sunset and second place in Wildlife for “The Great Migration.” Her photograph “The Acropolis” also received third place and was selected for the statewide traveling exhibition. The strong showing continued a tradition of success for members of the Park City Photography Club at the Utah State Fair and highlighted the range of photographic work that photographers in the Park City community are creating. The fair runs through Sunday, Sept. 20.
