The deal includes St. John Fleeting’s fleet at approximately Mile Marker 141 on the Mississippi River. The location can accommodate up to 300 barges, including dry, liquid, pressure, CDC, deck and oversized barges, according to Turn Services. Turn Services said the acquisition expands its fleeting operations in the Reserve area and increases its cargo-handling capacity within the Port of South Louisiana’s jurisdiction. St. John Fleeting has operated on the Lower Mississippi River for 50 years. Its operations will be incorporated into Turn Services’ existing network of barge fleeting, shifting, towing and other marine transportation services. “This acquisition represents another important investment in the long-term growth of Turn Services and in the customers and industries we serve,” Turn Services Chairman Gary Poirrier said. “St. John Fleeting has built an outstanding operation and a trusted reputation over five decades on the Mississippi River.
