On Sept. 11 Judge Melissa K. Copeland set a murder trial for a defendant in 2027,  after his mother’s trial for the same incident. Ephrem Melekte,33, and his mother, Fasika Tsadik, 68 are charged with first-degree murder and dangerous weapon with intent to injure for the death of Meko nen Habteselassie, 71.  The co-defendants are being tried separately. The prosecutor anticipates that Melekte’s trial will last six days, but he expects complications due to the trial timelines.
