SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and IMSA will open the Battle on the Bricks weekend with the IMSA Street Fest Thursday, Sept. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Main Street in Speedway. The free, family-friendly event will bring race cars, drivers and fans to the heart of Speed way for an evening featuring IMSA car displays, driver QA sessions, autograph sessions and interactive fan activities. Guests are encouraged to visit and support Speedway’s Main Street restaurants and businesses throughout the evening. Street Closures and Parking Restrictions Crews will close streets and restrict parking Thursday to prepare for the event. The following closures will happen: Closed to traffic and parking at 1 p.m. Main Street from 13th Street to 16th Street. 14th Street from Main Street west to the alley. Parking lot next to Barbecue Bourbon. Plaza Park at 14th Street and Main Street. Closed starting at 7 a.m. Alley next to Tolen’s Florist. Owners must move vehicles from restricted areas before the closures take effect. Police will tow vehicles parked in restricted areas at the owner’s expense. Wilshaw Apartment Residents Residents of Wilshaw Apartments can use a temporary entrance and exit on 16th Street. Main Street Businesses While vehicle access will be restricted within the event area, Main Street will remain open to visitors.
