After a high of 94 degrees today (just 2 degrees away from the record) Our temperatures will start to cool down this week. Tonight, The main concern will be gusty winds, with some storms capable of producing wind gusts around 40 to 50 mph. Most of the activity over the plains should wind down by around 9 PM, while showers continue in the mountains overnight. Monday will still be fairly warm, but it will also be breezy, especially in the mountains and foothills. Winds could gust up to 50 mph over the highest peaks, with gusts of 20 to 30 mph possible around the foothills and western Denver metro. Another round of showers and a few thunderstorms could pop up across the eastern plains during the afternoon and early evening.A noticeable change arrives Tuesday as a cold front moves through early in the morning. Temperatures will drop into the 70s across the lower elevations, with cooler readings in the mountains. Clouds will likely stick around for much of the day, and scattered showers are possible, mainly over the higher terrain with a few showers reaching the plains. Fall-like weather heading our way this weekBy Wednesday, temperatures should warm back up closer to normal for this time of year. There will still be a chance for showers and thunderstorms, especially over the mountains and Palmer Divide, although it is still unclear how much moisture will be available across the plains.Looking toward the second half of the week and into the weekend, the weather pattern stays a bit unsettled. There could be daily chances for showers, but the timing and coverage are still uncertain.
