A woman lying on the ground in front of a car parked in an adult bookstore parking lot in Kearny Mesa was seriously injured this weekend when the car’s driver accidentally ran over her, according to police. San Diego Police Department officers responded at about 10:45 p.m. Friday to the Mercury Bookstore parking lot at the corner of Balboa Avenue and Mercury Street, where a 26-year old man in a 2014 Honda Accord hit a 37-year- old woman as he was driving away. “The vehicle collided with the pedestrian. The driver felt the impact and backed up. He discovered the female on the ground,” officer David O’Brien said. “The female was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. She sustained a fractured sacrum and humerus.” SDPD Traffic Division responded to the location and is handling the investigation.
