CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two Chesterfield County schools went into lockdown Friday morning after police received an alleged threat at Monacan High, according to police. According to an alert issued by Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) around 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, Monacan Hig h and Gordon Elementary were placed "on secure status." School officials said the Chesterfield County Police Department has been contacted and that the school remained on this status until the situation was resolved. The status was then lifted at the school and returned to normal operation, according to police. "We ask that you do not come to the school at this time," CCPS said in the initial alert.
