Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze that broke out early Thursday morning at a duplex in San Jose’s Cambrian neighborhood, according to fire officials. The fire started just after 6 a.m. at a duplex in the 2900 block of Union Avenue while residents were home. Within about 10 minutes of th e first 911 call, San Jose firefighters arrived, made sure everyone was out of the building and began fighting the fire. As flames began shooting through the roof, firefighters had to leave the home and battle the blaze from outside. All residents were able to get out safely, and no firefighters were injured. Despite homes being close together in the neighborhood, the fire did not spread to any other residences. Utilities at the property were secured, according to the fire department.
