(BCN) -- BART train service resumed between the San Bruno and Colma stations Thursday morning following the latest in a series of major shutdowns and delays. Riders should expect residual delays in the Antioch, Richmond, SFO Airport and Millbrae directions as service is being restored in the area, BART officials announced at about 9:15 a.m. BART service was halted between the San Francisco International Airport and Colma stations earlier Thursday because of a train control equipment problem near South San Francisco, causing major delays for riders on the Yellow and Red lines. The transit agency issued an alert shortly after 7:10 a.m. about the problem and said riders were directed to shuttle trains that were running between the Millbrae and SFO stations, and between the SFO and San Bruno stations. SamTrans was also providing service on the ECR bus route, with stops between the Millbrae and Colma stations. BART has had ongoing issues in the Peninsula this week after a fire Tuesday night at a traction power substation near the Daly City station.
