(KRON) -- A tiny, fuzzy stowaway was located and rescued from San Francisco's Mission District over the weekend. According to a social media post, Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue said it is taking care of a marmot that was found around 16th and Albion streets on Saturday. Photo: Yggdrasil Urban W ildlife Rescue Marmots are typically found in high-country terrains, like Tahoe or Yosemite, and Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue is asking for help as to how the small animal snuck its way into the city. Rescuers said that marmots are notorious for climbing into the undercarriage or engine compartments of cars parked at high elevations, and they are drawn to the scent of car fluids and salt. If you recently returned from a mountainous region and think this stowaway could have caught a ride with you, contact Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue at 510-421-9897. ...read more read less
