Detectives are looking for three attackers after a CTA passenger was shoved off a moving Red Line train and landed on the electrified third rail Monday afternoon in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, officials said. The death marked the ninth homicide of the long holiday weekend. About 2:30 p
.m. Monday, a fight erupted aboard the train in the first block of West 69th Street, and three people involved in the altercation pushed a male of an unknown age off the train, Chicago police said.. The victim, who came in contact with the third rail, was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Earlier, police said the victim had jumped from the train. Area 1 detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. No arrests have been reported.
