RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from two special guests with "Cosmic Echo Live" Monday to preview this weekend's one-night-only celebration of the life, music and legacy of Lonnie Liston Smith. 8News anchors Delaney Hall and Madison Moore were joined by Landon Shroder and Michael Millions with "Cosmic Echo Live" to talk about the live musical tribute event and concert celebrating the jazz icon. The celebration will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Richmond's historic Hippodrome Theatre. "We have to honor our cultural heroes while they're still with us," Shroder said. "One of the things that was very important for us was to be able to honor Lonnie in a way that is deserving of his contribution, not just music, but also the culture."
