Man accused of threatening 4 people with gun at Delaware shopping center

A man was arrested after police said he threatened to kill four people with a handgun at a shopping center in Wilmington, Delaware.
Bruce Thorngate IV, 37, of Wilmington, faces multiple felony charges in connection with the incident at the Chestnut Run Shopping Center at 1714 Faulkland Road.
According to Delaware State Police, troopers were called to the shopping center around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, after receiving a report that a man had threatened multiple people with a handgun.
Police said when troopers got to the scene they were provided a description of Thorngate, who had fled from the shopping center towards a nearby neighborhood.
Troopers were able to find Thorngate walking in the the Greenville on 141 community. He was taken into custody and a loaded handgun was found in his waistband, according to investigators.
Police said an investigation revealed that Thorngate was standing near a store in the shopping center when he noticed the four victims.
For reasons that remain under investigation, police said Thorngate lifted his shirt, revealing the handgun, and threatened to kill the victims.
None of the victims were injured during the incident, according to police.
It was also found that Thorngate had a prior felony conviction and was prohibited from possessing or carrying a firearm.
Police said Thorngate was committed to the Department of Correction on a $64,000 cash bond.
