(KRON) -- Below normal temperatures continue through the weekend, with a gradual warming and drying trend beginning Monday and continuing through Thursday. A Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect through Monday. On Tuesday through Friday, there is a chance of light rain from remnant tropical moi sture. Short Term: Skies will be mostly clear Sunday, with some patchy low clouds along the coast. A weak weather system passes to our east, and behind it, high pressure builds back in, kicking off a warming trend Monday. A Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect from the coastal North Bay to the Big Sur coast through Monday evening. Minor coastal flooding is also possible for about an hour around high tide Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for low-lying shoreline areas in Marin County, with the higher-than-normal tide expected around 7:53 p.m. Long Term: The warming trend continues Tuesday and peaks Wednesday and Thursday, there will be a minor heat risk in some inland areas. Late in the week, temperatures will trend cooler. Through the week, there is a chance of light rain from remnant tropical moisture. Beach Hazards: Swell from tropical cyclones Marie and Karina continues reaching the coast through Labor Day, raising the risk of sneaker waves, strong rip currents, and breaking waves up to 10 feet. With good weather expected to draw more people to the coast over the holiday weekend, the risk is especially high. Stay out of the water unless you are an experienced swimmer, and never turn your back on the ocean. If caught in a rip current, swim parallel to shore until you are free of the pull.
